The Science Behind DiSC: Evidence-Based Insights for Behavior and Performance

DiSC is not just a workplace tool—it is a validated behavioral model grounded in decades of psychological research. Originally based on the theory of psychologist William Moulton Marston, DiSC has evolved through empirical studies and large-scale data analysis into one of the most widely used behavioral assessments in the world.

Today, over 40 million people across 70 countries have completed a DiSC assessment. According to research conducted by Wiley (the publisher of Everything DiSC), organizations that integrate DiSC into their leadership, team, and communication strategies report:

In a 2013 meta-analysis, behavior-based profiling tools like DiSC were found to be most effective when combined with applied coaching or team-based learning, supporting sustained behavior change and increased workplace alignment:
